Survivor 30: A Song of Descents -- Episode 3 Recap/Analysis

With Dom back from assisting Benedict Cumberbatch in thwarting criminal masterminds, we return to break down a pre-merge episode of Borneo Episode 3 of Worlds Apart. Is Tyler the faceup winner or are the editors just Josh-ing us? Can Shirin recover or is she as fucked as that monkey? And whose spots are most enviable as we embark on God's true gift to Blue Collar: the swap?  All that and more when you listen below, here, or on iTunes here.

  1. No closing words on Nina (or Vince, last week)?

  2. I don't know what I enjoyed more: the unmitigated horror in Dom's voice when he realized Colin was making him participate in a 'knock knock' joke, or the fact that Colin made him laugh!

I think of all the tribes, it's actually White Collar that is least likely to splinter at the tribe swap, because everybody thinks they're in a majority alliance. There was a secret scene in week 2, where Joaquin is lecturing Max (and Tyler) for sending So home, and Max is making up an explanation. Basically, Joaquin thinks it's a boys club with Carolyn and Shirin on the outs.

Obviously, anything's possible, but I think it's safer for White Collar to keep their numbers than throw a challenge to vote off Joaquin. No Collar should absolutely get rid of Will. Blue Collar would probably be best served getting rid of Mike and finding a way to make Dan feel he's secure--then join up with No Collar to overthrow the ruling class. As one does.
